Maintenance MechanicDuties and Responsibilities:Perform maintenance tasks, including repairs to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, with minimal supervision from the maintenance supervisor.Plan and execute projects while obtaining cost estimates, under the supervisor's guidance.Troubleshoot and carry out mechanical repair duties.Provide training in areas of expertise as needed.Respond to maintenance requests from employees.Assist the supervisor with parts ordering.Help develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.Participate in and act on quality improvement initiatives.Support the installation of new equipment and facility upgrades.Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and reporting any hazards to the supervisor.Ensure compliance with company quality standards and assist during audits.Design and fabricate repairs and process improvements as necessary.Perform other duties as assigned.Key Competencies:Knowledge and experience in mechanical systems, plumbing, steam and boiler operations, pneumatics, confined space procedures, mobile equipment, MIG welding, and oxy/plasma cutting.Flexibility and adaptability to change.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.Physical ability to bend, squat, kneel, and climb frequently.Capability to stand for at least three hours at a time.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Availability to work varying schedules, including different hours and days.Strength to lift materials weighing 50 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and piping diagrams in orthographic, isometric, and sketch formats.Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocational certification is preferred.Compensation: $28-$38/hr.
