The Buyer will be responsible for managing the entire procurement and sourcing process from start to finish, ensuring total cost ownership and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sourcing alliances with external suppliers to meet ongoing business requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Negotiate pricing with vendors to purchase materials at competitive market rates.Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies of products are available at all times.Communicate with vendors regarding any issues that arise during the procurement process.Review bids/pricing from suppliers to determine which ones will be accepted based on price, delivery times and other criteria.Develop and execute sourcing strategies for the procurement of goods and materials in support of business objectives.Analyze trends and make recommendations to management for process improvements.Transmit purchase orders and expedite shipments for timely delivery.Manage supplier performance, developing and maintaining positive relationships.Record supplier non-conformances and follow appropriate corrective actions per departmental procedures.Process returns for defective material.Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the procurement process.Qualifications & Skills2+ years experience in Purchasing, Sourcing, or Supply Chain management.Experience working with Supply Chain ERP systems.Ability to gather & analyze data from multiple sources to inform decision making.Ability to effectively negotiate terms and conditions.Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work cross functionally.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred.CPP, APICS, or CPIM certification preferred.Experience in the tape and specialty film industry preferred.This is a full-time, Monday-Friday onsite position based in our Cincinnati office.
