Position Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, and laboratory-focused senior or principal research associate who will play a key role in designing and executing cell-based assays and developing new platforms to evaluate our proprietary compounds. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the generation of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Position level will be commensurate with experience.What you'll do:Design research experiments and work independently to execute experiments.Perform in vitro cellular assays to profile compounds, enable mechanism of action studies for potential anti-cancer therapeuticsGenerate engineered cell lines for screening assaysMaintain and culture tumor and non-tumorigenic cell linesConduct cell-based assays using CTG (CellTiter-Glo), IncuCyte, colony formation assays and other technologies to evaluate cell viability and proliferation.Analyze and interpret scientific data and build data decks in PowerPointTroubleshoot assays to ensure high quality dataInterface closely with scientists in the research group to ensure efforts are aligned to the scientific project goalsPresent data and report on project status at individual, Biology group and project meetingsRequirements:A minimum of a B.S. degree in cancer/cell/molecular biology or related areaB.S. or M.S. with 2+ years of relevant research experience, preferably in drug discovery in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industryExpertise in mammalian cell culture using aseptic tissue culture techniques and cell-based assays to evaluate viability (siRNA/shRNA, small molecule compound screening), protein level analysis (western blot), gene expression analysis (qRT-PCR) and other functional/molecular biology assaysExperience with flow cytometry and immunofluorescence is a plusExperience in 3D spheroid assays is a plus.Ability to develop, optimize and troubleshoot new cell-based assaysEfficient time management and the ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously.Adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.Attention to detail and enthusiasm for integrating basic science learnings with drug discovery efforts.
