The ideal candidate for this position as the K-12 Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new K-12 client relationships and fortifying existing client relationships with K-12 leaders in Michigan to add school projects and services revenue growth for Fanning Howey. This individual will proactively manage and lead targeted business development activities. This candidate will be focused and have strong communication skills. They should be able to think critically when making plans and have a demonstrated ability to execute a particular strategy. Responsibilities and Essential Duties:Work in collaboration National Director of Business Development, Director of Marketing, Project Executives, leadership, and other business units to identify, qualify, and position Fanning Howey for opportunities aligning with key services and strategic planBuild, activate, and manage targeted prospects resulting in pursuit wins and new feesPosition Fanning Howey services to A/E firms and other A/E/C consultantsActively research project opportunities through networking, personal relationships, cold calling, reading of industry publications, attending community events/conferences and participating in industry-related organizationsBuild an ongoing strategic prospect or priority target listLead the coordination of introductory meetings with prospective clients to company expertsAssist in assembling and briefing the pursuit team to ensure all client requirements are metWork with marketing to assist with proposal development, project team resources, and deliverablesAssist marketing with preparing the project team for a successful interviewQualifications Preferred:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Construction or related technical field of study is required5+ years' experience in business development/marketing within A/E/C professional services firm or A/E/C business-to-business environment; prior industry related business development experienceExperience with publicly-funded project design/construction procurement process and project delivery methodsKnowledge of long-term sales cycle of A/E/C professional servicesDemonstrated experience in tracking and managing a wide range of project leads, focusing on follow-through win strategy, and closureAdvanced skills at building and managing client relationships with strong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience developing and delivering presentationsProven knowledge and execution of successful development strategiesFocused and goal-orientedPreferred experience using CRM softwareWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
