Position Title: Emergency Response OfficerDuration: 4-weeks to start (strong potential to continue to Phase II)Location: Greater LA CountyPurpose: Emergency Response to LA WildfiresHousing: Hotel stays fully paid for when neededPay Rate: $30/hr for first 40 hours, OT (1.5x Pay) over 40-hour mark, DT (2x Pay) over 80 hoursPer Diem: Daily Per Diem provided for meals etc.Insight Global is hiring a team of Emergency Environmental Responders / Environmental Scientist in support of the CA wildfire sites. The position supports a contract with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 that includes California. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to make a difference in our communities by doing work that helps to protect public health and our environment.The team will be responsible for full environmental assessment including soil sampling & air sampling, in surrounding areas to confirm safe conditions for local residents. The HHW team - (Household Hazardous Waste Team) will be handling incidents involving hazardous materials commonly found in household products like paints, cleaners, batteries, oils, car batteries, compressed gas cylinders, light ballasts. They will identify these materials and use appropriate safety gear and containment methods for proper cleanup. In this position you will be part of a project team, gaining valuable data collection experience in the field and preparing detailed analysis of field data and project reports.This project is currently slated to last 4 weeks but could be extended based on the needs.Projects include:Post disaster remediationEmergency responseSuperfund removal actionsRemedial action sitesOrphaned well plugging and assessmentDue diligence (Phase 1 and Phase II assessments)Lead based paint and asbestos assessments -Work will include: Multimedia sampling (including air)Oversight of operationsPreparation of reports and tablesReview of data, field audits and inspectionsOrganizing and reviewing data, file reviewsCollection of air monitoring dataTraining and exercise supportThe client will provide per diem, and housing accommodations when needed unless staff are local to the site.Full relocation will not be necessary. Extensive travel is required and varies based on project requirements. Work will consist of working 6-7 days a week, including weekends, 10 to 12-hour days and will average 75-84 hours per week.
