Position SummaryTPT is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee the CNC machining, manual machining, and maintenance departments for the Valencia, CA manufacturing site. In this role, the Production Supervisor will provide direction and leadership for all production machining and maintenance activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC) goals. The Production Supervisor will have direct responsibility for planning, organizing, and executing production workflows in the most cost-effective manner while ensuring that a quality product is processed according to the manufacturing schedule. The Production Supervisor will communicate daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and requirements to the manufacturing team and follow-up on all actions through completion. The Production Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and supports the company strategic plan, including the company's mission, vision and values.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow and enforce safety policies, ensure safety issues are addressed in a timely fashion, provide safety training, and champion the safety program for the siteInterface and coordinate with the integrated product team (IPT - Materials, Quality and Engineering) to schedule production activities to ensure > 95% on-time delivery and warranty rates at Lead a culture of 5S and continuous improvement through routine audits, coaching, and enforcement of policies; the Production Supervisor must be able to identify and explain "what good looks like" to direct reports and members within the IPTManage direct reports for on-boarding, training and coaching, performance management, and employee development to improve cross-training, eliminate skill-gaps within the departments, clearly communicate expectations to each direct report (including company values, procedures, and policies), and drive accountability throughout the production floorLead daily production team meetings to communicate day-to-day production activities, identify immediate and future bottlenecks and constraints, and work with the IPT to provide resolution to maximize capacity for each work cellParticipate in Quality Stand-Up Meetings as a key contributor that receives Quality and Engineering feedback and uses the information to identify gaps in the manufacturing process, collaborate on immediate solutions, and provide corrective action to ensure that mistakes are not repeatedNavigate through the ERP system to verify production demand, cell/machine capacity, employee clocked hours, staffing, and scheduling plans on a regular cadence (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly) to constantly validate and improve site practicesProactively identify opportunities for improvement related to SQDC; the Production Supervisor will actively challenge the status quo by asking the question "How can we do this better?" and then directly support operational improvements through participation and leadership of Kaizen eventsPerform administrative duties including payroll and timecard approval, vacation planning, operational refresher training, and safety training and awarenessExperience and Education RequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience5 to 10 years of direct experience in a production CNC machining (VMC, HMC, 5-axis, lathe) environment (aerospace preferred)3 to 7 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production aerospace environmentAt least 2 years of experience working with an MRP or ERP systemDemonstrated experience with continuous improvement tools, 5S methodology, and structured problem-solving processesTechnical SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office programsComprehensive understanding and knowledge of M-code and G-codeAbility to read blueprints including GD&T symbols and interpretation per ASME Y14.5HBD Industries is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
