We are currently working with a clinical-stage biotechnology company that are developing a novel antibody as a therapeutic for chronic mast and stem cell diseases. This client is currently conducting clinical studies as a treatment in patients with CSU or with CIndU and is initiating a clinical study in patients with asthma.Role Description:Looking for an Associate Scientist to join the client's preclinical in vivo pharmacology team. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and executing high-throughput cell-based assays and in vivo proof-of-concept experiments. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on laboratory skills and a thorough understanding of scientific principles, experimental precision, and data integrity.Key Responsibilities:Independently execute a variety of in vitro high-throughput cell-based functional assays and in vivo animal studies, adhering to project timelines and objectivesContribute to IND-enabling preclinical studies, including in-house assay development, maintenance of multiple cell lines, and investigation of proof-of-concept in vivo modelsDesign and optimize new study protocols with general guidance and execute experiments independentlyAnalyze and interpret scientific results with general supervision, providing timely answers to key scientific questions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting data analysis and contributing to both internal and external scientific discussionsPresent findings at individual, project, and department meetings, and draft detailed scientific reports.Maintain thorough records of experimental designs, procedures, and resultsTroubleshoot experimental challenges and instrumentation issues with guidance as neededManage lab reagent inventory and ensure timely ordering of suppliesCoordinate and prioritize tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating effective planning and organization.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Immunology, Cell or Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in academia or industry, or a master's degree with 3+ years of experienceAt least 2 years of hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is preferredExtensive experience with FACS and multi-color flow cytometry, including panel design and data analysis, is essential. Proficiency in tissue cell isolation and experience with single-cell RNA sequencing are highly desirableProficiency with high-throughput cell-based functional assays and MSD platforms is strongly preferredExperience in development animal models is an advantageProficiency in aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques is required, with additional experience in hematopoietic stem cell and primary immune cell culture considered an advantageStrong skills in using data analysis tools such as FlowJo and GraphPad Prism are requiredContract:12 month contract40 hours per weekW2 onlyLocation: Remote (Ideally San Francisco)Start date:ASAP
