Our client is an established top-tier alternative asset management fund in NYC. The firm is well-known and invest in assets across multiple strategies. Working directly under the Deputy General Counsel, the Litigation Counsel - attorney would contribute to and/or be responsible for the following areas:Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential legal finance investments (ranging from credit-like/diversified loans to single-case binary risk), including analysis of legal merits and damages potential, financial viability, and risk assessmentExamine and evaluate law firm dockets as well as individual case strengths and weaknesses in discussions with attorneys and claimants.Assist in negotiation and documentation of transactions.Help prepare detailed underwriting memoranda and make recommendationsCollaborate with other team members to shepherd opportunities through the deal life cycleAs part of the underwriting, work with the investment team to structure funding transactions and create financial return modelsHelp monitor loans and funded cases and maintain ongoing communication with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with loan documents and funding agreements (i.e., asset management post-investment)Stay abreast of industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes impacting litigation finance (including attending conferences, following key publications, etc.)Assist the team with valuation processes related to individual deals post-investmentExpand network (at law firms, etc.) to assist with deal sourcing/originationAssist with fundraising efforts from time to timeRequirements:2-3 years of experience (JD 2022-2021) in the Complex Commercial Litigation group of a top Law firm is needed.
