Application Engineer/Estimator

Our client, a precision gear manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer/Estimator. The main role of the Application Engineer is to deliver precise pricing details for the design and manufacturing of industrial gears. When a project request is received, the Application Engineer/Estimator will examine and assess all data provided by the customer, including technical and design specifications essential for project completion. They will accurately calculate the costs of raw materials, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and any other expenses required to fulfill the project according to specifications and offer the customer a precise quote.Primary Responsibilities:Selection, pricing, quoting, and proposals tailored for customersHelp customers with product drawingsReview specificationsProvide support for sales and marketing strategiesAssist in creating marketing materialsAct as a technical expert to support the sales teamOffer technical support to the factory, sales team, and customersAid in on-site problem investigationsProcess orders in the current ERP systemQualifications and Experience:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or B.S.M.E.T or equivalent work experience3 to 5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a related field is required; 1+ years in industrial gear market is beneficial. Experience in the mechanical drive/power transmission industry preferred.Flexible to changing requirements and able to technically adapt, able to multi-task, good communicator, professional and positiveTeam player, good problem solving skills, and self motivated Creative, adaptive, and assertiveKnowledge of large industrial gear drive applications and competitorsHigh level of organizationProject management skillsTechnical sales skills
