JOB SUMMARY: Identifies the sales opportunities for assigned publication and extended properties, generates market information for potential advertisers, contributes to research efforts and prepares reports as requested. While performing the essential functions of the position, the Regional Sales Manager has extensive contact with customers, manufacturers, vendors and other industry contacts. This position has regular contact with the Publisher, other sales and editorial staff.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity from the assigned customer base while expanding sales through growth in share and the expansion into new vertical markets.Generates market information, builds custom/creative campaigns and unique programs used to secure key customers as well as grow territory through growth in share. Maintains strong industry credibility through visible attendance at trade shows and other product presentations, staying up to date on new developments and technologies and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new customers.Generates sales from account maintenance/up selling, cold calling, and face to face meetings.The creation of PowerPoint presentations and other sales collateral for client sales calls.Work closely with marketing to generate and implement targeted efforts to expand sales and its extended products while growing share in emerging vertical markets. Travel requirements include 25%-30% travel, approximately 2 trips per month 2-3 days each. International travel to key industry shows and sales meetings. Prepares summary activity reports detailing account contacts, product, competitive and market information via database.Maintains and utilizes database for all client contact and scheduling.Contributes to research efforts of new products and the expansion into vertical markets.Performs other duties as assigned by Publisher.JOB REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
