IntroductionHigh Street Consulting (HSC) is seeking an experienced business practice leader to serve in a senior leadership role as Principal, overseeing and growing HSC's preparedness practice. This role will drive business development for the practice, manage client relationships, ensure the delivery of high-quality consulting services, and lead a team of consultants focused on emergency preparedness and workforce development. The Principal will also contribute to HSC's overall strategic planning, financial performance, and market positioning.We are a small but growing company with a track record of delivering high-quality services to our clients and supporting our staff. If you are interested in growing with an innovative team where you can make an immediate impact in a supportive and collaborative work environment, this is the place for you.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Business GrowthDevelop and execute a strategic vision for the practice area, aligned with HSC's goalsCollaborate with HSC's VP of Business Development to identify market trends and opportunities to expand the HSC's presence in federal and state and local government agencies as well as educational institutions and the private sectorRepresent HSC through attendance and participation in conferences and industry-appropriate events to enhance our visibility and reputation in the marketplaceCultivate teaming agreements that complement and expand HSC's capabilitiesDrive revenue growth by securing new contracts and enhancing client retentionCollaborate with HSC executive leadership to set financial targets and ensure profitabilityClient and Project ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring exceptional service deliveryOversee the execution of consulting engagements, ensuring projects meet client and/or teaming partner expectations, deadlines, and budgetsProvide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to support client problem-solving and decision-makingTeam Leadership and DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants to enhance their skills and capabilitiesFoster a high-performance culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and professional growthAssist in recruiting and retaining top talent within the practice areaOperational and Financial ManagementManage the practice's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysisEnsure operational efficiency through effective resource allocation and process optimizationImplement best practices for project management and service deliveryQualifications and Skills RequiredDeep expertise in the fields of emergency preparedness and workforce development Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning, financial management, and operationsAbility to develop innovative solutions and drive process improvementsExcellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teamsStrong relationship management and negotiation skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to internal and external executive audiencesEntrepreneurial mindset with a drive for business growth and innovationAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsHigh degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and commitment to client successDemonstrated skills working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelExperience with SharePoint and Microsoft TeamsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related field) preferred15+ years of experience in consulting or professional services; government client experience preferred10+ years in a leadership role Proven track record of growing a business practice, securing new clients, and leading successful consulting engagementsCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive base salary with performance-based incentivesMedical, dental, and vision insurance 401k retirement planPaid time off in accordance with unlimited leave policyFlexible work environment with opportunities for remote workEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Discount Program
