This internship is a part of CONMED TALENT LAUNCH - a hands-on, immersive program designed to provide students with the exposure, experience and development needed to launch a successful career at CONMED. The R&D Capital Electronics group is dedicated to improving and designing state-of-the-art, reliable surgical power tools in the orthopedic space. Developing safe, intuitive, and effective products helps patients return to their normal everyday lives. We are seeking an R&D Engineering Intern to join our R&D Capital Electronics Group. As an intern on the R&D Power team, you will support the electronics team by completing hands-on, low-level development and design changes, while applying good verification practices. You will have opportunities to develop test fixtures and ad hoc testing scenarios that analyze failure modes of designs, while learning proper design practices and software product life-cycle management. Through collaboration with your engineering design team and cross functional support, this internship will help develop your engineering skills and principles focused on product development and design improvements.Intern Responsibilities Will Include: Help create a software development and programming station for various pieces of medical equipment.Design, review, and implement firmware for released and future medical equipment.Work with the R&D team to help develop design documents including test protocols, reports, and design drawings.Engage in architecture discussions for future orthopedic, power tool platforms.Position Requirements: Pursuing completion of a bachelors or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another closely related field Must be available to work onsite in Largo, Florida, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, May 19 - August 8, 2025This position is not eligible for employer-visa sponsorship.As a CONMED intern, you will receive competitive compensation and holiday pay.Disclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $19.75 to $32.25. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level.
