Project Manager, Content SecurityLocation: Burbank, CA About the Role:We have partnered with an entertainment giant to find their next Project Manager. This role needs someone who is an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in security-based initiatives and technical project management. This role will be instrumental in leading and managing the execution of security-related projects and initiatives that support content protection across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a blend of waterfall and agile methodologies, a solid understanding of the security landscape, and the ability to drive complex projects with multiple teams and stakeholders.You will work closely with the Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations for Content Security to oversee the end-to-end execution of security projects, from initiation to closure. You will manage a diverse portfolio of projects involving technology teams, software developers, engineers, data scientists, and security specialists, and coordinate efforts to ensure that the security initiatives align with the overall business and technology goals of the studio.Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of a wide range of security initiatives, ensuring successful completion within scope, schedule, and quality standards.Agile and Waterfall Methodologies: Manage projects utilizing both Waterfall and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), adapting approaches as necessary based on the project needs and team dynamics.Cross-Team Coordination: Oversee and facilitate cross-functional teams, including software developers, engineers, data scientists, and infrastructure specialists, to ensure alignment with security goals.Project Reporting: Provide regular status reports to executives, stakeholders, and management, tracking key project milestones, risks, and issues. Utilize tools like Smartsheets and JIRA for managing project execution and tracking.Security Initiatives Management: Drive the execution of security-related projects across multiple business areas, gathering requirements, defining scope, scheduling resources, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Agile Ceremonies: Lead agile-oriented ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.Data-Driven Decision Making: Use business intelligence tools such as PowerBI and KPIs to assess project, program, and sprint health, and apply corrective actions when needed.Portfolio Management: Assist with portfolio prioritization and defining objectives and key results (OKRs) for the content security program, ensuring the delivery of high-priority projects.Resource Management: Coordinate resource planning and execution across a diverse range of security projects. Manage team workloads and ensure that project timelines are met effectively.Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and potential risks within team operations, implement process improvements to enhance velocity, and streamline project workflows.Quarterly Planning & Review: Lead quarterly planning sessions for the Content Security organization, defining key priorities, capacity plans, and metrics that will be used to measure progress and performance.Key Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.5-7 years of experience in technical project management, with proven expertise in managing both waterfall and agile projects.3-5 years of experience managing a diverse portfolio of projects across a variety of technologies, complexities, and durations.Strong experience with project management tools, including Smartsheets and JIRAStrong understanding of security initiatives in a technical environment, particularly in content security.Experience working with cross-functional teams such as software developers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, data engineers, and security specialists.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, identify solutions, and drive process improvements.Excellent meeting facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate and present ideas effectively to senior executives and stakeholders.Proficient in developing and presenting visual concepts using tools such as LucidChart and PowerPointStrong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates on project status and present project details to leadership.Nice to Have:Experience in media & entertainment or related industries, with an understanding of the unique content security challenges in this space.Prior experience working with security teams on content protection, intellectual property security, and encryption.PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or similar Agile certification.
