THE ROLE:We are seeking a Building Intelligence Engineer based in the New York metro area to join our team and help ensure our clients' buildings are effectively integrated with our solutions.With your engineering background and expertise in HVAC automation/control systems, you will work closely with our Sales & Operations teams to ensure that all buildings in our portfolio are properly quoted, set up, and optimized throughout their lifecycle. We're looking for someone driven, eager to learn, and passionate about the energy and ClimateTech space!RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct on-site assessments of client buildings to estimate initial savings, integration costs, and the benefits of our servicesUse modeling tools to analyze energy savings potential, based on on-site assessments, historical utility data, mechanical specs, building drawings, and current control sequencesOversee the installation and setup phases, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget while keeping clients informed throughoutEstablish communication between our software platform and field controllers/devices in client buildings, and work with our programming team to test control sequences that reduce energy wasteComplete final commissioning and sign-off of systems to ensure all requirements for both our service and client incentive programs are metManage the incentive application and procurement process for our clientsInterview building staff to understand current control protocols and challengesSupport the sales team with market insights, contacts, and proposal developmentAct as a local technical resource for the service delivery team for buildings that are live in the systemCollaborate with the Operations team to provide ongoing support to customers after installationStay informed on local incentive programs, including eligibility and requirements for our servicesBuild and maintain relationships with local electrical, mechanical, and controls contractorsOversee the procurement of necessary hardware and services from contractorsContribute to optimizing systems and processes for the NYC marketServe as a subject matter expert on New York's Local Law 97 and other relevant local policies and regulationsQUALIFICATIONS:An academic background in Engineering, with a focus on HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering1-5 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Energy auditing and/or energy servicesMEP EngineeringControls/Building AutomationFamiliarity with energy incentive programsAbility to travel to client sites across New York's five boroughsA desire to grow, learn, and take on new challenges in a fast-paced startup environmentA quick learner who can apply new knowledge with minimal guidance, and continually seeks to improve processesA strong focus on efficiency and process optimization, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving gapsPreference will be given to candidates with any of the following: Experience working with MEP drawings, including controls drawingsExperience managing installation or retrofit projectsFamiliarity with building automation systemsExperience with Niagara Tridium products and applications
