This is 100% onsite role in Fremont, CA, 94538.Our Client is a Fortune 350 company that engages in the design, manufacturing, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment.We are seeking a talented and motivated Robotics Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. They will need to develop computer vision, robotic path planning and human machine interface solutions. They will work in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to design, test and troubleshoot special application end effectors on a 6-axis robot. The ideal candidate has a high bandwidth and is organized and thorough, the existing team is working like a start-up division and engineers work on a variety of aspects of the project in a dynamic working environment. Critical analytical skills and hands on development and prototyping is critical for success in this role.A Robotics Software Engineer will own technical development and professional support to projects emphasizing new and unreleased products.Required Skills:BS/MS/PhD in robotics or similar field10-15 years of industry experienceMust have combined experience in six-axis robotics and computer vision.Experience collaborating on software projects using version control, preferably GitCreative thinking, strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilitiesAbility to complete projects and learn the required skills with minimal guidanceSolid understanding of statistical process control and basic statistical analysis used in production settingPrevious experience in individual project managementMachine/deep learning backgroundKnowledge of the following languages and frameworks: Python, SQL, OpenCV, ML Platform such as Tensorflow or PyTorch, JS + React for user interfaceExperience developing web API's or SDK'sCreative thinking and strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities, including experience in the areas of mechanical engineeringPrevious experience in project managementResponsibilities:Robotic path programming and computer visionWork collaboratively with a team to design, build, test and troubleshoot robotic systemsDesign and code user interfaces for robotic systemsHelp create infrastructure to manage and analyze the data generated by a growing number of robots and vision systemsWork onsite in the lab most of the timeWilling to travel up to several times per yearTake ownership of assigned tasks and projects, assuring proper release and hand-off of solutionsAcquire and apply basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems such as 8DDesign and conduct experiments and tests pertaining to the resolution to complex technical problemsGenerate clear and concise reports to justify your technical recommendationsAct as liaison for cross functional projects across organizationsImplement industry standard process control techniques such as six sigma/lean manufacturing and value stream mapping to manage and develop production efficienciesTrain other engineers
