Location: Indian Head, MD - 4 days onsite, 1 day remote - relocation assistance availableLength: Direct HireSalary: 100k-175kClearance: Will be obtaining a Secret security clearanceJob Description:Primarily requires development of requirements and technical review of design packages as well as occasional design work.Prepare design packages (including electrical design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates) for renovation projects such as replacement and installation of HVAC, electrical power service, emergency generator, surge suppression, lightning protection, grounding, bonding, control systems, and telecommunications systemsConduct technical reviews of design packages created by others to assess compliance with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), electrical codes, and regulations, as well as end-user requirementsProvide technical input to proposal development for renovation projectsSupport design process from concept through delivery of completed design packagePrepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as requirements or the basis of designCollaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and external, and the design team (e.g., engineering department, manufacturing department)Serve as a project manager and/or design manager on some assigned projectsQualifications and Skills:A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not requiredA minimum of 8 years' experience required; 10+ years is preferredAt least five years of experience with designing electrical power systems for new or upgraded buildingsExperience with the design of energetics-related safety systems (e.g., bonding & grounding, lightning protection systems) is preferred but not requiredMust be fluent in NFPA 70 NECExperience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorksAbility to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environmentMust currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
