This role is integral to VentureBeat's mission, focusing exclusively on corporate events that engage enterprise decision-makers and align with our audience personas, including AI engineers, data professionals, and IT leaders.The Senior Director of Events will oversee the planning and execution of our flagship VB Transform and AI Impact Tour series, among other initiatives, collaborating closely with our content, marketing, and sales teams to deliver exceptional experiences. With approximately 13 events per year, this role reports to the COO/CRO, with a dotted line to the CEO, who oversees content strategy.ResponsibilitiesExecution Strategy:Develop and oversee the execution of VentureBeat's well-defined event strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission and enterprise personas.Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable execution plans.In-Person and Hybrid Event Leadership:Focus primarily on delivering exceptional in-person events with bespoke hybrid activations to engage a broader audience.Manage all logistical aspects of event production, including venue selection, vendor negotiation, and on-site execution.Collaboration and Team Leadership:Partner with the event content team to craft compelling agendas that address the needs of enterprise decision-makers.Collaborate with marketing to oversee the overall promotional plan and work-back schedule, ensuring alignment with the broader strategy and timely execution.Work closely with sales to build sponsorship packages and revenue-generating opportunities.Mentor and manage the GamesBeat events lead and other team members involved in event execution.Operational Excellence:Maintain and manage master timelines to ensure deadlines are met.Conduct post-event evaluations and ROI analysis to inform future planning.Continuously refine processes to optimize efficiency and attendee satisfaction.Qualifications7+ years of senior-level event management experience, with a proven track record of growing event portfolios and launching new initiatives.Expertise in corporate and enterprise-focused events, with a strong understanding of trends in enterprise AI and data.Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities across hybrid, in-person, and virtual event formats.Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&Ls, and performance-oriented metrics.Excellent communication and leadership skills to foster collaboration across cross-functional teams.Proactive, results-driven mindset with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach to problem-solving.Experience managing remote teams and navigating the fast-paced environment of a growing company.Knowledge of the evolving hybrid event landscape and best practices for engaging enterprise audiences.Willingness for periodic, but light travel to support events in locations such as New York City.Why Join VentureBeat?Be part of a leading media and events company at the forefront of enterprise technology and AI.Collaborate with a passionate and driven team that values innovation and impact.Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of VentureBeat's events portfolio, connecting decision-makers with transformative insights and experiences.How to ApplySubmit your application to Jobs@ with the subject line "Senior Director of Events."Attach the following in PDF format:A cover letter detailing how your experience aligns with the role, your interest in VentureBeat's mission, and your vision for our events.A resume including three professional references.Application Deadline: January 31, 2025
