Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?As a Scientist II, you will be responsible for managing large projects and will develop new practical and robust methods for analysis used in the semiconductor and associated high tech industries. Will work with Managers, Sales and Marketing and Lab Members.Preparation and analysis of routine and non-routine samples and standards in the Water Laboratory.Method development for Water Lab analyses, including training of the lab staff to ensure proper implementation.Management of large projects, including development of new methods for additional lab capabilities.Investigate customer problems, e.g. customer contamination issues and other inquiries.Responsible for accurate evaluation, interpretation, and verification of analyses performed in the Water Lab, e.g. IC, particles, TOC.Preparation of analysis reports.Perform general maintenance and troubleshooting on the analytical instruments, e.g. IC, instruments to ensure the instruments remain operational and minimize downtime.Perform onsite sampling at customer locations for UPW and air/gas analyses.Follow all SOPs and lab safety and quality requirements.Write, review and update SOPs for the Water Lab.Remain current on all training and foster a safe working environment.Understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.Work collaboratively with team members on analyses as required.Responsible for attending the SEMI Standards Committee meetings (virtually) and being able to report back information internally, across all Balazs sites and departments as necessary.Communicate internally and externally with customers, the commercial team, etc, to promote new offerings, make analytical recommendations and discuss data and results.Provide technical presentations internally and externally as necessary.Updates the laboratory manager on activities in the lab to ensure smooth workflow, on time delivery of results, and overall customer satisfaction.Participates in continuous improvement efforts within the lab on improved methods and method development.Maintains 6S in the laboratory.Must be able to provide support to other laboratory areas as needed.Active participation in all internal and external audits.Are you a MATCH? Ph.D. in Chemistry or Similar Science with with 2-5 yrs of experience (preferred) OR Masters of Science in Chemistry or Similar Science with 7+ years of experience OR Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or Similar Science with 15+ years of experienceProficiency in operating analytical instruments, e.g. IC (Ion-Chromatography), including general maintenance and troubleshootingKnowledge and experience with Ultra-Pure Water System Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skillsMust have initiative, be self-motivated, highly organized and be able to work under time pressure and change plans on short notice.Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken) and a strong passion for customer service.Possess good personal time management skills.Possess a good understanding of process flow in an analytical laboratory.Work safely at all times and ensure a culture of safety first and a safe working environment in the laboratory.Must be able to work in a clean room environment for up to 6 hours each day, as required.The Salary rate range for this position in California is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00Benefits offeredMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
