About Us: Western Extrusions Corporation is a national leader in the manufacturing of extruded aluminum products. Headquartered in Carrollton, Texas we manufacture quality products used in America's critical infrastructure industries including but not limited to class 8 trucks, electric vehicles, truck trailers, utility scale solar power, electrical transmission, and numerous commercial construction products.About the Role: This position reports to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager and is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and processes to optimize safe, efficiency, and productivity.This position will work closely with our maintenance and engineering teams to optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to enhance overall safety and productivity. Your Responsibilities:Solve complex technical problems with creativity and autonomy.Maintain and improve new and existing processes.Optimize efficiency and profitability through process enhancements.Develop work instructions, control plans, and conduct process failure analysis.Assist in troubleshooting issues with equipment.Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams for process improvement.Guide technical staff in repairing and improving manufacturing equipment.Adhere to all safety and quality guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment including but not limited to adhering to all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements, immediate incident reporting, and adherence to both Safety Cardinal Rules and Quality Cardinal Rules, among others.Promote, support, and enforce Western's Safety, Quality, Governance, regulatory and ISO 9001 standards as they apply.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team.Required Experience and Qualifications: Solutions oriented and analytical.Experience in a continuous process such as aluminum extrusion and production preferred.Project management and planning.Technical engineering and design skills.Demonstrated communication, organization, and project management skills.Technical engineering and design skills, including AutoCAD or 3D modeling experience.Demonstrated communication, organization, and project management skills.What You Will Bring: B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar) from an accredited program 5+ years' experience working in industrial engineering/maintenance (would potentially look at candidates without a degree, but would like 10+ years' experience including time in an engineering role).Strong analytical and project management skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed above.Promote, support, and enforce ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards as they apply to the facility.Work Environment: Responsibilities are carried out in both indoor settings and in the plant, an unregulated environment that experiences extreme temperatures and high levels of noise, including but not limited to other uncontrollable factors.Disclaimer Notice: The essential duties and responsibilities, education, experience, abilities, physical demands, and work environment, among other things, listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.
