Shop Technician/WasherCompany: WeatherfordLocation: 4420 West Greens Road, Houston, TX 77066Employment Type: Contract (6-month contract w/ Potential 6 month extension) Possibility that this can go full time based on business needSchedule: Monday - Friday; 6:00AM - 2:30PM Onsite 5 days per week RequiredOT Based on Business DemandPay Rate: $22.00/hr. to $23.00/hr. (based on exp level)Job DescriptionThe Shop Technician/Washer's primary responsibility is to prepare and wash tools and equipment to stage for repair work. This position may also have developmental opportunities to cross-train on R&M Technician activities such as troubleshooting and implementing preventative/corrective maintenance on field equipment tools. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform cleaning and general cosmetic work on Managed Pressure Drilling and BlowoutPreventer equipmentInspect equipment for damage and prep for washingAssist in training less experienced Washers Prioritize workload according to the planned production schedulePrepare tools for shipment and convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage/other designated area by hand, forklift, or other means as required and in accordance with operator trainingAssemble/disassemble product line tools as per procedure or Technical Work Instruction in accordance with Quality standardsTroubleshoot and diagnose issues with the toolsImplement mandatory modifications and/or preventive and corrective maintenance of the tools/assetsConduct testing of tools/assets to ensure integrity of assembliesMonitor, record, source and re-order day to day spares and consumables associated with the running of the plant Open crates and sort and place materials on racks/shelves/in bins as required Record operational hours on tools/assets in work order systemMonitor and source spares and consumable levels to keep the plant operational and cost effectiveLiaise with shop supervisors and leads, engineering, and other support functions as required, communicating maintenance issues and requirementsMaintain daily workshop housekeeping Successfully complete training plan and competency standards as set out in the position within company guidelinesMaintain a consistent level of production quality by adhering to manufacturing procedures and work instructions developing corrective action that may reduce ineffective and inefficient operation Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the jobUnderstand and follow maintenance and repair procedures/documentation for applicable products and equipment and complete all relevant documentationRequired to be available for any approved overtime outside of normal work scheduleRequired to be available on call for any urgent needsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED2+ years related experience in manufacturing, repair and maintenance, or mechanic environmentPreferred Qualifications1-2+ years of experience in related product line within Energy sector (MPD or BOP preferred)Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g. forklift, crane, etc.)
