Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We provide components and design solutions to some of the most complex problems that plague the Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication industry. Our patented Plasmon, Magnon, and Lepton product lines include advanced state of the art Ion Optical Beamline Solutions including but not limited to Ion Implant Sources, Extraction Electrodes, Faraday's, PEF's, EMER's, etc. iTS serves many leading Semiconductor Fabs around the world with our design improvements that significantly reduce their operating expenses. The Company is ISO 9001:2015 certified, maintains a Class 10,000 cleanroom facility, and a complete R&D Metrology and QC lab. The Position:The Mechanical Design Engineer will first learn about iTS's extensive product lines and become familiar with our improved designs for the various Ion Implant tools that iTS supports. The Candidate will work alongside Senior Managers to create, design and test new products for our customers that maximize Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Maintenance (MTBM). Additionally, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will work directly with iTS's engineering and sales team to conceptualize customer requirements and needs that meet and or ideally exceed their expectations.ResponsibilitiesSupport Senior Management in the development of new products and the expansion of iTS product linesUnderstand the different Ion Implant systems that iTS supports and facilitate new design and development of products and solutionsCreate BOMs for new design assembliesDesign experiments to test prototypesPrepare technical designs, drawings and models of new components and assemblies.Test prototypes for form, fit and function as well as perform thermal testing analysisInternalize customer requirements effectively and communicate them to the Engineering and Sales teamLeverage experience to further develop iTS's Research and Development teamPrioritize and manage customer engineering requestsLead new R&D projects with the Engineering teamQualifications:Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering field required;Minimum 10 years of experience in a design engineering role; Minimum 3 years of experience in the Semiconductor and or Ion Optical industry is preferredExperience in Semiconductor and or Complex Scientific Production Capital Equipment design and fabrication is required.Knowledge of Ion Optics and Metallurgy of Refractory Metals is preferredAbility to create and read mechanical drawings and to understand complex Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances as it pertains to Thermodynamics is requiredProficient with CAD software such as Solid Works or InventorProficient with LabVIEW and/or COMSOL is preferredExcellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in teamsAbility to thrive in a detail-orientated environmentProficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
