SUMMARY The Manager, Playbook will support the design, documentation, and implementation of Tide Rock's Value Creation Playbook. Tide Rock aims to consistently grow portfolio company enterprise value through the application of this playbook and the operating principles behind it. The Value Creation Playbook will highlight key value creation opportunities for Tide Rock companies and the functional best practices behind them. This individual will report directly to the VP, Operational Excellence and collaborate with functional leaders of the Tide Rock growth team (i.e. marketing, corp. dev., go-to-market, accounting, finance, talent acquisition, AI, etc.). Subsequently, this person will be responsible for supporting the deployment of these modules in a format that can be replicated in new and existing investments and updating them when needed. In this role, the Manager, Playbook will partner with Tide Rock leadership to assist in change management and the achievement of buy-in from CEOs and key portfolio company stakeholders to successfully deploy the playbook. There is an assessment of which playbook modules need full or partial deployment at each portfolio company to achieve the desired enhancement to enterprise value. Utilizing an understanding of industry trends, this individual will interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend value creation strategies to improve products, processes, and/or services in a repeatable manner. Simplification and standardization of the playbook implementation process is a core goal. The VP, Operational Excellence also leads AI at Tide Rock. The Manager, Playbook will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of building and leveraging AI in a private investment setting in a value creation role. This person will work out of the Tide Rock office in sunny Solana Beach, CA.POSITION/REQUIREMENTS Playbook & Learning Management System (LMS) Construction Support firmwide strategic initiatives relating to documentation, modulation, and deployment of value creation playbook Partner with various department heads to develop curriculums for Value Creation to memorialize into training programs for portfolio companies within the LMS.Own the documentation of key processes and components into an external LMS to act as a guide in everything from company principals to budgeting to reporting to governance. Support the design of a repeatable approach for identifying which playbook modules to deploy in new investments and in which sequence they should be executed. Leverage prior knowledge of complex mergers and acquisitions to recommend modules aimed at objectives such as synergy capture, cost reduction, pricing, GTM strategy and tactics, hiring, budgeting, process redesign, commercial process simplification, etc. Playbook Deployment & Refinement Analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data in an efficient manner and synthesizing the output into meaningful, repeatable, and actionable value creation modules.Design a repeatable approach for identifying which playbook modules to deploy in new investments and in which sequence they should be executed. Recommend timing, sequencing, and specific module deployment in bespoke roadmaps for each portfolio company. Stay on top of relevant industry trends related to value creation - including the use of data/tools to make our playbook more impactful and identify areas of harmonization between people and technology.Build executive-level relationships with key operators to secure buy-in, creating connections and relationships that help deliver what is best for our companies and stakeholders. Communicate effectively in an organized and knowledgeable manner in written and verbal formats to senior audiences and deliver difficult messages with persuasiveness and sensitivity. QUALIFICATONSBachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of experienceManagement consulting, or similar consulting, backgroundDemonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large, multi-source datasets to recommend creative solutions to address business problemsDemonstrated ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex topics to diverse audiences Ability to flex across multiple functions and disciplines (accounting, finance, operations, sales, marketing, talent, corp. dev., business dev., etc.)Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and software tools; experience with various multimedia tools a plus.
