VP of Commercial Finance

Along with developing and launching our own brands with nationwide distribution, such as Rancho La Gloria Ready to Drink Margaritas, Big Sipz Cocktails, and Dough Ball Cookie Dough Whiskey, Patco products are made for and sold in every major retailer, including Costco, Target, Walmart and Whole Foods, among others.The opportunityThe FP&A team is seeking a highly motivated finance professional to help us with a broad range of financial analytical tasks. We are looking for a strong generalist with a can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. Build and leverage data models, participate in developing sales and financial plans, and improve data metrics and reporting. Develop the FP&A partnerships across business functions to provide managerial insights and protect margins and cash. This role involves managing two staff along with significant individual contribution, and reporting directly to the CFO.ResponsibilitiesSales planning and forecastingguide and support sales & marketing teams in their forecasting effort; drive the process of building and validating sales forecast by brand/sku and region/state; develop sales planning framework to improve forecast accuracy and achieve cross-team alignment; manage collection, integration, and usage of statistical sales data (orders/shipments/depletions/velocity/IRI/distributor plans) for all FP&A needs.Sales & Operations planningprovide consistent shared demand outlook in coordination with sales and production teams; develop and monitor S&OP KPIs (DSI, forecast accuracy, service levels, etc.).Sales supportmeasure sales volume/brand contribution performance vs. plan; brand spend analysis; local marketing funds spend tracking; assist with compensation and bonus tracking; work with the sales & marketing teams to gather/analyze/leverage market data and provide FP&A insights.Pricing supportpricing/discount allowance administration, tracking, and analysis; participate in design/improvement of the price management system.Profitability managementdevelop deep understanding of our supply chain; understand sources of costs and the cost structure; oversee product margin analysis; lead monthly/quarterly product profitability measurement.New product margin analysiswork with cross-functional stakeholders to drive new product costing and profitability analysis.Inventory managementanalyze DSI and expiration; provide insights for sales forecasting and margin analysis.Planning/budgetingkey contributor to the annual budget process; lead meetings with brand owners to develop plan drivers; assist with budget reviews; build budget presentations.QualificationsRequired:Strong record of commercial finance/sales support experience is required.Bachelor's degree (finance/accounting/business administration or STEM plus relevant experience preferred). 10-15 years of work experience in finance with emphasis on commercial finance.MBA/MFE/MS a plus. Demonstrated ability for critical thinking, linking the big picture to operational insights.Proven ability to read and interpret financial statements. Solid understanding of GAAP.Experience in organizing large amounts of sales/industry data in a scalable/repeatable way, deriving analytical insight, and turning it into actionable recommendations. Passion for data-driven analytical insight.Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate across functions and management levels.CPG (food & beverage, in particular) industry experience required. Alcohol beverage distribution (wine or beer) industry experience a big plus.Experience with VIP/iDIG/Nielsen/Circana/IRI a big plus.Experience leveraging NetSuite or other major ERP data sources to derive analysis/insights.Optional but very helpful:Essbase/Anaplan/Adaptive/Planful/OneStream and the likes; PowerBI/Tableu/Qlikview and the likes.Salary and benefitsOther Perks.By applying for this position, we are collecting personal information from you.
