The Proposal Estimator reports to the VP of Business Development. Candidate should be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task with advanced problem-solving techniques, proficient in communication skills with timely follow up, uphold high value for customer service relationships and exemplify integrity, passion, and professionalism. If you excel at problem solving and enjoy working with others, we welcome your application.Essential Functions including but not limited to:Meet bid date schedules and deadlines for residential, commercial, and military projectsReview, read and interpret architectural drawings and specificationsPerform quantity take-offs using a systematic, methodical, detail-oriented process for rehabilitation, reconstruction, and new projectsReview and understand contract and bid documentsPrepare a responsive bid submission, including aiding in the filling out of bid paperworkEnsure compliance with all bid requirementsCoordinate with division managers to understand capacity and need for work in different regionsSolicit pricing from and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliersSupport in the transition from the award of contracts to the hand off to pre-construction activitiesAid in the research and identification of new bid opportunitiesAll other duties as assignedEducation and Skill Requirements:College education in Construction Management or equivalentExperience with Xactimate and Bluebeam is strongly preferredExcellent written and verbal skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in managing obstacles and avoiding potential delaysAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracyAbility to work effectively within a team environment and adapt to changing project demands and deadlinesDSW Homes offers a competitive compensation package with employer paid health insurance, paid time off and paid holidays.
