Role and ResponsibilitiesBlockchain Association Internships are designed to expose qualified applicants to operations, government relations, member services, communications, marketing, and events work as well as other aspects of business with trade associations, nonprofits, and government entities. The Blockchain Association intern will make meaningful, substantive contributions to the Blockchain Association via office management, assisting with research, joining update calls with current members, and helping to plan member visits, events, and fly-ins. The intern will also have the opportunity to network extensively and develop valuable experience in the blockchain industry. Internships are intended for those who are serious about pursuing their chosen path in work related to trade associations, nonprofits, or government. As a Public Affairs Intern, you will report to BA's Chief of Staff and Operations Coordinator and collaborate with BA staff across the organization on a variety of projects. Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:Managing the BA membership calendars keeping them up to date with internal events as well as details related to important hearings, rulings, conferences, etc. Maintaining BA databases, CRM, and Drive via an organized filing system, keeping industry lists, and updating details on names, companies, points of contact, touchpoints, notes, and newsMonitoring government bulletins, including the Federal Register and congressional hearings schedules, to track updates relevant to blockchain policy.Preparing comprehensive research and briefing documents on current and potential members before regular check-in and prospect callsCoordinating with BA's Operations Coordinator on logistics for fly-ins, BA-sponsored DC activities, and member company visitsAssist the working group team as needed with coordinating calls, taking notes, research on policy positions and follow up.Work closely with the Operations Coordinator on the administration of BA's DC office, including assisting with office-wide events, managing supply inventory and orders, vendor management, and maintaining general office condition including arranging for repairs as necessary.Blockchain Association interns will work in-person from our Washington, D.C. office and will be hired on full-time (40 hour schedule) for 10-12 weeks. The dates and duration of the internship may be flexible. EligibilityAll Blockchain Association Interns must be at least 18 years of age on the first day of their internship. Exceptions will not be made to this requirement.High school students, regardless of age, are not eligible to participate on a paid, unpaid, or for-credit basis.Candidates offered an internship are subject to passing a criminal background and credentials check prior to their first day of work.CompensationBlockchain Association endeavors to make arrangements with any colleges and or universities university to ensure that Interns may receive course credit. In such cases, before or on the first day of their internship, Interns shall present to Blockchain Association any forms or other documentation required for the Intern to secure approval from their academic institution to receive the desired academic credit.
