As the wine industry continues to evolve in the U.S., MMD USA intends to remain an outstanding and distinctive ambassador of the wineries it represents.We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our sales Team in New England. In this role you will be responsible for marketing MMD's international and domestic portfolio of fine wines and champagnes to distributors and other sales accounts. The Regional Sales Manager manages distributors in each state (ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT) to meet and exceed the business plan and performance objectives.This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits for a candidate located in New England, Boston proximity preferred, with a history of sales and management experience in the New England market. This position is responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of strategic sales initiatives with our wholesaler by channel of distribution. Trade responsibility includes On/Off Premise, Chain, and Independent, Regional, National, and other licensed wine accounts.Key Responsibilities: In this role you are responsible for working with the Director of Sales - East to execute the sales priorities and agenda of the MMD portfolio. Distributor ManagementMaintain current and up-dated knowledge of the US system of wine & spirits distribution with distributors, suppliers and top accounts.Use excellent communication and persuasion skills to secure distributor focus and efforts on company brands. Develop, train, motivate and manage distributor sales personnel within territory. Conduct monthly or bi-weekly General Sales Meeting (GSM).Conduct tastings/seminars to motivate distributor sales staff or key accounts. Use visual aids or PowerPoint presentations. Work with MMD DM team to engage and educate the distributor in understanding the culture, long-term objectives and current industry news of the wineries represented by MMD USA with goal of focus, engagement and prioritization of MMD wines. Identify and prioritize individual sales team meeting cadence and build a yearly plan for the entire team to build a full understanding and coverage of the portfolio. Work with the distributor to build creative and compelling pricing strategy and incentive programing while maintaining SRP and costs of support.Work with the distributor to support their internal team programming. MarketingMaintain a thorough and current understanding of the culture, long-term objectives and industry news of the wineries represented by MMD USA.Conducts tastings/seminars to motivate distributor sales staff or key accounts. Uses visual aids or Power Point presentations. Ensure market penetration of all company products and maintain and improve the products image.Develop and implement marketing programs to achieve marketing objectives including sales objectives, distribution objectives, merchandising goals where appropriate, estimated costs, pricing goals and profit structure. Utilizes Programming and/or Incentive tools to help organize and project marketing expenses.Launch new products and determine proper distribution channels. Bi-weekly, provide written report summarizing market feedback, marketing success and challenges to management.Account Management / Sales Work with management to identify key accounts in major markets and classify those accounts according to the criteria set by MMD USA. Provide annual updates.Provide sales support to the distributors' sales members, accounts, and staff members to generate sales.Implement management directed sales objectives to achieve penetration in various segments and territories which are of particular importance for each of the products.Monitor pricing level for off-premise licenses and wine list pricing for on-premise.Makes regular sales calls to designated on-premise accounts to cultivate customer relations and satisfaction with service provided.Makes product presentations, promotes new and existing portfolio items to expand and grow the business.Meet/exceed assigned monthly quotas and placement objectives using resourcefulness and persistence.Assist customers with inventory management responsibilities (product availability/new product placement and rotation of stock).Recommend create/design wine lists, and wine by the glass programs.Merchandise off-sale/retail accounts and reset shelf space, cold box and build displays to correspond with promotions and incentive programs.Comply with MMD USA salesperson responsibilities and policies. Reporting, Planning, Organization of Salesforce Activity and Task ManagementResearch, organize and present sales reports, quota attainment, market feedback and results every two weeks to the Director of Sales. Gathers necessary required information from Distributors or accounts.Conduct market/pricing analysis as requested. Utilize Outlook Calendar and VIP Karma daily to manage tasks, appointments, events and coordinates activities with MMD management.Accurately complete pricing programs and submits to Director of Sales before new program implementation.Work with VIP, the internal reporting and sales management system, to register market activity, understand sales data, pricing, inventory management and build strategyOther essential duties and special projects as required.Supplier Support Work internally to communicate and manage travel and hospitality arrangements for the supplier Identify key customers to target for presentations Organize trade and consumer lunches, dinners, promotions and sales opportunities Provides written feedback to management on supplier's visitsBudgetManage all aspects of budget to include sales and marketing budgets as well as personal travel, entertainment and office expenses What you bring:Bachelor's Degree desired with 5+ years industry related wine supplier experience Comprehensive and current knowledge/experience with wine and spirits including regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic production and service.Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable auto. Acceptable driving record.Ability to lift and carry a 45(+) pound case of product on a repetitive basis.Available to work flexible hours including weekends as necessary. Additional hours required during the peak season of October, November and December.Goal oriented, focused, adaptable, persuasive, and assertive individual who can work independently and with a variety of personalities.
