Freelance Associate Designer -Women's Woven

We are looking for a Freelance Associate Designer -Womens Wovens for a top fashion company in New York, New York.Responsibilities: Work closely with category leader to design category-specific product based on design direction givenLearn and understand raw materials and trims related to a specific classificationPerform daily follow-up using email and PLMInteract with buyers and vendors to develop a working partnershipPrepare presentation boards for monthly meetingsObserve presentation techniques and be prepared to make preliminary presentationsMaintain daily running or classification while designer travels including fit sessionsPerform preliminary design research domesticallyComment on lab dips, wash submits, and finishes with supervisor approvalPerform other duties as requiredAble to work in a hybrid environment, meaning that some work may be performed remotely but certain essential functions must be performed in-person/in-office based on the needs of the business.In-person/in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person/in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of the week, entire week) is dictated by business needs. Such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education)Experience working in Apparel; 2-4 years related Denim experienceMust be knowledgeable of Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM (or equivalent program)Keen eye for color, trend, detail, and constructionAble to multitask and prioritize based on business objectivesAbility to act as a liaison between many departments, excellent communication, and analytic skills.Must be detail-oriented, computer literate, and able to handle multiple tasks at once.Comfortable working in a hybrid environment - working in the office as well as remote work from homeIf interested, please apply.The Solomon Page DistinctionSolomon Page offers a comprehensive benefit program for hourly employees.
