Inside Sales Engineer Job DescriptionThis role is intended to develop trusting, work relationships with both internal and external customers. Will work directly with the Account Executives and the Pre-Construction team in pursuing prospective clients, while continuing to build upon relationships with existing clients. The role is responsible for supporting ultimate delivery of our services and client satisfaction. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to provide innovative design solutions with little or no scope definition provided.Internal to the organization, the role will require constant collaboration with departments such as administrative staff, preconstruction, engineering, and operations.ResponsibilitiesGeneralDemonstrates behaviors consistent with NDBS core values; Safety, We answer our phones, Always innovating, Collaborative Partnerships, Reputation, Entrepreneurship.Develop skills for client interaction, bid strategy, and design related aspects within market sectors.Work closely with Account Executive throughout the project life cycle and serving as the primary point of contact for the project.Client management regarding risk mitigation, conflict resolution and scope changes shall be approved by Account Executive.Marketing and SalesProvide physical presence to clients through on-site training, social events, and during project reviews.Develop technical project scopes, pricing, schematic designs, and cost saving options when appropriate. Scope and pricing to be reviewed and approved by Director of Sales and Account Executive.Assume full financial responsibility ensuring that project estimates meet the profit margin expectationsProject AwardWork with PM and AE to negotiate contract markups. Assist AE with contract execution process including negotiations with client.Facilitate internal turnover meetings to identify project scope, risks, resource requirements, communications, schedule and budgetsProvide support to the project team during the buyout processSupport Project Manager throughout construction and closeoutCollaborate with engineering department to ensure project scope is developed into design documents for permitting and bidding purposesSupport Project Managers during buyout processes and constructionQualificationsStrong ability to work in a team environmentStrong interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written)Minimum of 5 years in HVACR or related industry experienceBachelors Degree RequiredMechanical Engineering BS degree preferredConsiderable experience in HVACR projects by means of active management, leading design teams, experience with direct digital controls, project controls, sales, and/or field experienceAbility to define technical project scope, pricing, and prepare written proposals for construction general contractors or management firms. Must have a comprehensive understanding of total project costs and profitability managementFamiliarity with modern design codes (ICC, IECC, IMC), ASHRAE Guidelines and StandardsTechnical understanding of HVACR design methods and calculationsOSHA 30 certification is a plus and will be required upon hiring
