Assistant Plant Manager

Job Title: Assistant Plant ManagerLocation: St. Louis, MissouriPosition Summary: As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring production efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards. You will work closely with the Plant Manager to implement and monitor processes, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Food Manufacturing Industry Experience Required. Key Responsibilities:Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing all aspects of production, including processing, packaging, and distribution.Coordinate and supervise plant operations to ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.Monitor production schedules, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of products.Implement and maintain best practices for production efficiency, waste reduction, and cost control.Conduct regular inspections to ensure that equipment and facilities are properly maintained and functioning efficiently.Develop and train plant staff to enhance their skills and improve overall performance.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless operations.Assist in the development and implementation of operational strategies and initiatives to achieve company goals.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, environmental protection, and workplace safety.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the food processing industry.Strong knowledge of dairy production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Working Conditions:This position may require standing for extended periods and working in varying temperatures.Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required to meet production demands.
