The Vice President of Construction Management/Estimating is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of construction management and estimating operations for public works projects. This position requires expertise in public works construction, including roads, grading, utilities, and municipal infrastructure. The Vice President will ensure the successful execution of projects in compliance with government regulations, budgets, and timelines.Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:Provide strategic direction and leadership to the construction management and estimating teams.Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture focused on quality, safety, and innovation.Project Oversight:Oversee all phases of public works construction projects, including planning, design, bidding, construction, and close-out.Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to resolve challenges and optimize project outcomes.Estimating and Budgeting:Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for public works projects.Analyze project requirements, review bid documents, and identify cost-saving opportunities.Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of historical costs and market trends.Candidate Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.5+ years of experience in construction management and estimating, with a focus on public works projects.Proven leadership experience in a senior management role.Expertise in public works construction standards, practices, and regulations.Proficient in construction management and estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS).Strong financial acumen and experience managing large-scale budgets.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
