Estimating Manager - Concrete ProductsPosition Objectives:Lead and supervise the team of estimators to prepare accurate bids and estimates of probable cost.Continuously work to improve the estimating systems and processes.Position Responsibilities:Lead the estimating team to deliver its work accurately and efficiently.Vet sales task requests and make appropriate work assignments to the estimators.Ensure timely delivery of the work.Review scope and pricing of bids prior to submitting them.Prepare project summaries for the Operations team when new work is secured and upload necessary information to the company ERP system.Maintain and improve current systems and processes. Develop new ones, as needed.Analyze financial results of completed projects and adjust estimating methods, as needed.Establish roles and responsibilities for each role on the team.Hire, train, and mentor new estimators, as needed.Evaluate the need for resources and make recommendations to the Vice President of Engineering regarding personnel, software, and technology.Evaluate and recommend appropriate pay structure for the team.Prepare project cost estimates as time permits, and workload demands.QualificationsB.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.Able to lead a team.Experience reading and interpreting contract documents for construction projects. Experience in the water/wastewater industry desired.5+ years of experience preparing construction cost estimates using spreadsheets and/or estimating software.
