SENIOR ESTIMATORSearching for a result-driven, skilled and proven Senior Estimator for heavy civil projects and promoting company growth in the Raleigh NC Area. Scope of work includes Bridges, DOT, Federal, Heavy Civil Highway, Infrastructure, and Utility projects. As a Senior Estimator, you are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, producing comprehensive estimates, developing bid strategies, managing contracts and subcontracts, providing cost & margin analysis, understanding the complete build scope that is required to successfully bid and win a project. After estimates are won, continue to work with the Project Management team(s) to follow-up on the project schedules and budgets to successfully close the business.Location: Raleigh, NC CompanyConfidentialGeneral Job Duties of a Senior EstimatorResponsible for bid administration in preparing full estimatesPrepares and maintains the status of plan reproduction. solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendorsComprehensive knowledge of means and methods, ability to read and understand build plans and specificationsPrepares subcontractor bid packages to be included in bid proposals and communicates addenda and other bid information to subcontractorsCoordinates and interfaces with owners, architects, engineers, project managers and other project team members to resolve any technical matters during planning and development, negotiation, and contract executionAttends Pre-bid meetings, site visits, pre-construction meetingsPerforms all stages of an estimate including project selection, estimate organization, take-off, pricing, review, and closeoutAssists project management with preconstruction planning, takes part in scheduling meeting and budget meetings when requestedPrepare, analyze and maintain accurate quantities and thorough take- off's from plans and assists project management team when requested during projectEstimate time, materials and equipment required for job completionDevelops/utilizes, improves costings methods, and keeps current with estimating softwareSome flexibility may be needed to potential travel to sites, conferences and working hours outside of usual business hours on occasionOther duties as assignedJob Skills & Qualification/Education Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience RequiredBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related field preferred but not requiredProficient in estimating, scheduling, construction programs (IE HCSS,HeavyJob,MSProjects,P6)Prior field experience as Project Manager/Superintendent /Project Engineer PreferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsMust be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephoneWindrose Staffing was born from a passion wanting to help others succeed in their career goals and to assist companies in finding a great match for talent.
