Associate Piping Designer

Job DescriptionJob OverviewThe role is for Associate Piping Designer with responsibility for plant layout and piping design for Onshore Oil & Gas, LNG, and Renewables Industry projects. The work includes conceptual studies, FEEDs, estimates, detail design, and construction support. ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and ResponsibilitiesWork under the supervision of designers and engineers in the production of basic piping design deliverablesUtilize 3D modeling software tools to model piping itemsGenerate bulk material take offs for piping materialsPrepare and update piping drawingsIdentify potential changesProvide administrative support to the piping leadAssist in the preparation of detailed drawings and deliverables of high technical quality and consistent presentation, ensuring clarity and constructabilityGain experience in the following work areas:Design2D drafting3D drafting and model creationDevelop basic technical skills to complete assigned workPrincipal/ Senior Designer appraised of all activities, progress and concernsBecome fully familiar with the Project Scope of Work, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirementsAssist in developing Plant Design and 3D Modelling and discipline under the close supervision of a senior designerUse communication skills to exchange ideas and information effectivelyApply basic analytical skills and operational procedures to perform straightforward activitiesUse standard operating procedures to guide own work and solve standard problems Reports to: Project: Lead Piping Designer Functional: Department Manager Liaise With: Designers and EngineersQualifications Essential Qualifications and EducationHigh School Diploma - Some college or associate degree preferred Basic understanding of CADD systems and drafting processesEffective communication skills and professional ethicsAbility to learn and maintain design within our company methods and proceduresPreferred Qualifications and EducationSome college or associates degree preferredDrafting software knowledge (Autocad, Microstation, etc.)Modeling software knowledge (S3D, E3D, etc.)Piping design experience in modeling and draftingHigh School graduate with a diploma in Mechanical Design or Drafting in a related discipline or equivalent experienceEntry level to less than 3 years drafting and/or designDetailed knowledge of 2D CAD and /or other drafting softwareProactive and willing to learnFlexible for business traveling/assignmentsAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
