Electrical Estimator

Abacus is looking for an Electrical Estimator in the Baltimore/ Aberdeen, MD area.M-FApprox 7am- 4pm$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearThe electrical estimator will calculate possible costs and gains of construction projects. You will collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable with numbers and analytical. You must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate estimates. This position reports directly to VP of Estimating.DutiesAcquire understanding of the requirements of the project and provide an accurate estimate.Select metrics to produce valid estimatesVisit sites, warehouses and other venues to gather essential informationReview documents or consult experts to collect all necessary dataAnalyze data and produce forecastsPrepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate partiesSelect advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotesFoster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.)Familiar with all aspects of electrical codes to produce a design and build an estimateOther duties as assigned involving estimates and or pricing of any change related to items of a project. Skills and ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience as an electrical estimator in residential and commercialExperience in electrical field work of at least five (5) years.Proven experience as electrical estimatorHands on attitudeBasic understanding of accounting and project management conceptsDeep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metricsComfortable with numbers and technologyBasic knowledge of estimating software like Viewpoint, ConEst, etc.Great attention to detailExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesWell-organized and reliableAttended a certified electrical apprenticeship programComputer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
