Rigby Wood Interior Design provides a flexible work environment, making it an ideal employer for dedicated professionals seeking work-life balance while excelling in a dynamic creative role.The Role: We are looking for a self-motivated, knowledgeable designer with at least 5 years of experience who thrives in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment and aligns with Rigby Wood Interior Design's values of hard work, client service, flexibility, and forward thinking design excellence. In this role, you'll work side-by-side with the firm's Principal on luxury projects. You'll attend client meetings with the Principal, draft plans and make initial selections, and be a key part of the design team from inception to completion. This position works in-office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays off (or option to work-from-home on Fridays).Responsibilities & DutiesTake projects from concept to completion, serving as contact for clients and all necessary tradesCollaborate with the principal to shape each project's visionAttend client meetings, taking notes & owning follow upsCreate and deliver compelling client presentations with creative sourcing and advanced visualsGuide the design team, evaluating options to meet client goalsWork seamlessly with clients, designers, architects, contractors, and artisans on multiple projectsResponsible for material selection, custom furniture design, furniture sourcing, budgets, and timelinesProvide exceptional customer serviceProduce comprehensive project documentation, including full drawing sets, specifications, schedules, and construction adminSkills & Qualifications5+ years of experience in interior or architectural designDegree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture highly preferredProficiency in AutoCad and Microsoft Suite is requiredAdobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and SketchUp are preferred; Studio webware is a plusPassion for design with a sharp eye for detailPolished, confident presenter with strong communication skillsSkilled in all design phases: concept, schematics, documentation, procurement, and installationFlexible and adaptable team player with excellent interpersonal skillsExperience working with high-profile clientsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projectsProactive, resourceful problem-solver with a "can-do" attitudeDependable, with strong integrity and follow-throughPhysically capable of lifting 40+ lbsReliable transportation for travel to Arlington, McLean, DC, and BethesdaAuthorized to work in the U.S. and available for in-person work in Arlington, VAHours and Compensation:In-office, Monday-Thursday, 9 AM-4 PM; Fridays off (or working from home)Hourly pay based on experience
