Manager will lead a team of manufacturing engineers to plan, direct, optimize, improve and oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to ensure cost efficiency, product functionality and continuous improvement. Additionally, reducing waste and maintaining high quality parts & assemblies. The M.E. manager will be working closely with production, quality and maintenance. The M.E. manager will ensure safety in their organization and be safety minded with manufacturing processes.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManages M.E. staffDirects, assigned tasks and provides assistance as neededAccomplish performance evaluationsResponsible for M.E. hiring, disciplinary actions and terminationsBasic ResponsibilitiesSafety, training management of M.E personnel. Direct CNC programming, M.E., manufacturing processes, problem solving, and prioritization of workEnsure safety of all employees working under responsible departmentsLead and motivate M.E. personnel to accomplish schedules, continuous improvement, increase machine uptime, reduce costs, and ensure manufacturing processes produce high quality productsTrain, coach, mentor and oversee employees to achieve optimal performance, considering every employeeDesign, prepare, implement and record manufacturing methods and results to ensure high quality and efficiencyComply with Quality Manual to assure shipping of high-quality productsMaintain viable schedules of your departments and expedite as neededMaintain and present training to M.E. personnel on applicable procedures, processes and equipmentWrite and accomplish employee performance reviews, along with wage increases as deservedPromote atmosphere allowing employees to use the best of their skillsEmploy, interview, monitor and conduct disciplinary methods for all M.E. personnelCollaborate with production, production control and other plant operationsContinuous Improvement, Manufacturing and Engineering SupportProcess improvement: Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality and safety. Along with reducing waste and improving productivityProduction support: Furnish technical expertise and support to the production team, helping to resolve manufacturing problems and improve performance. Develop and optimize workflows and equipment to ensure maximum outputNew Products: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth transition of new products from design to production. Evaluate manufacturing feasibility, working with suppliers to ensure tooling and equipment readinessEquipment and tooling: Design, modify, or improve tools, equipment and fixtures to maximize production capabilities. Evaluate machinery and equipment, implementing or recommending upgrades as needed. Including any software or hardware that can aid M.E. and productionQuality: Work closely with Q.A. team to help identify root causes of defects and aid in implementing corrective actions. Ensure processes meet ISO and other policies and proceduresCost reduction: Identify cost-savings and process improvements, through process optimization, waste reduction and efficient resource utilizationHealth and safety: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environmentDocumentation: Create and maintain process documentation and process improvements; including standard operating procedures, process flow diagrams and manufacturing specifications.
