Job Title: AutoCAD Drafter - Telecom/UtilityJob Tyle: 6 month, Contract to hireLocation: Dallas, TX or McKinney, TXSalary Range: $25-30/hr. (W2)Akkodis is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter for Utility and Telecom projects in the Dallas, TX area.This will be a contract to hire with around a 6 month conversion. The desired candidate has a minimum of one year of experience in an AutoCAD role. Exposure to Telecom or Utility design is preferred. You will be responsible for performing various engineering functions including the design of fiber cable networks and lines for the utility industry. This is an excellent opportunity with an industry leader!!!5 days onsite in N. Dallas or McKinney, plus occasional field site visitsResponsibilities:A functional knowledge of PC applications is required. AutoCAD computer aided drafting knowledge is required.Review, analyze, and resolve field engineering problems discrepancies or interferences.Provide interpretation of utility and DOT plans, detail sheets, and specifications for City, County, State, and Federal Agencies.Provide CAD support for Utility coordination, Subsurface Utility Engineering and Municipal Projects, as workload dictates.Meet project completion dates and budgets set by Project Manager and Client.Independently Work with rough sketches, drawings, specifications and other engineering data received from client or Project Manager for use in the development of final construction drawings.Must be able to understand and work directly with survey notes and record utility drawing.Will be trained on plot plan view drawings or plan & profile drawings to include cross-sections, spot elevations, buildings, walls, fences, roadways, rights-of-way, underground utilities, tunnels, overhead power lines and other structures noted in the survey notes or on the record utility drawings.Collecting field or other utility record data required for completion of construction drawings when necessary.Calculate or determine project utility dimensioning, profile grades, route elevations, underground utility line elevations, underground utility line sizes and quantities of materials.Skills:Experience with AutoCAD REQUIRED, Civil 3D preferred.1 year of recent experience in Computer Aided Drafting; experience with utility design projects preferred.Some experience interpreting utility records, engineering plan and profiles and preparing base drawings from survey notes and be open to learning new ways to input 2D and 3D utility data into exhibits a plus.Creating plan and profile drawings for utility facilities such as telecommunications systems, electric, gas, sewer or water.Experience with telecom conflict assessment and relocation preferred.Past experience in CAD support of subsurface utility engineering or utility design projects a plus.Past experience with the permitting process of Texas cities and municipalities preferred.If you are interested in this AutoCAD Drafter Job, then please click apply through Akkodis.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
