Addison Smith, a leading mechanical contractor in West Georgia is seeking a qualified Industrial/Commercial Project Engineer for commercial projects within the Atlanta/West Georgia Area. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE RELEVANT EXPERIENCE PLEASE DO NOT APPLY TO THIS POSITION.Job Summary:The Construction Project Engineer serves as a key technical and coordination resource on construction projects, ensuring that design plans are executed effectively and efficiently. They are responsible for supporting project planning, managing resources, coordinating teams, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills to ensure project success.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and Coordination:Assist in preparing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure understanding of requirements.Collaborate with architects, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment of project goals.Technical Support:Provide engineering expertise and solutions to address construction challenges.Assist in the development of work plans and construction methods.Ensure design compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.Quality Assurance and Control:Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications.Conduct site inspections to verify quality of work and materials.Identify and address non-conformities or potential issues.Cost and Resource Management:Assist in managing budgets and tracking project expenses.Prepare cost estimates and change orders as needed.Monitor the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.Communication and Reporting:Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders.Prepare and submit progress reports, documentation, and project updates.Facilitate regular project meetings and ensure follow-up on action items.Health and Safety:Promote a culture of safety by enforcing compliance with health and safety standards.Conduct risk assessments and ensure mitigation plans are in place.Address safety concerns promptly and effectively.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Experience:3+ years of experience in construction project management or a similar role.Experience with large-scale construction projects preferred.Technical Skills:Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, P6, MS Project).Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, or similar design tools.Familiarity with construction means and methods, materials, and legal regulations.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Certifications (Preferred):PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.OSHA Construction Safety and Health certification.Working Conditions:Split between office settings and active construction sites.Requires wearing safety equipment and following site protocols when on-site.May involve occasional travel to project locations.Pay:· $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year Commensurate with Experience Benefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid Vacation and HolidaysPaid Maternity LeaveProfessional development assistancePaid Sick LeaveRelocation assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insurancePhone AllowanceFuel Allowance (fuel card)Vehicle Allowance
