ICT Designer

Primary RoleThis is an engineering and production role for an IT infrastructure/security technology professional. In this role you will be responsible for understanding the client's project needs and working with the project manager and lead designer / consultant to provide all design documentation associated with the project, including the basis of design, drawings, equipment selection, and performance specifications.Essential Functions:Design and document enterprise class access control systems, alarm monitoring/notification systems, and digital video surveillance systems as required. IP and network bandwidth/transport requirements for IP video w/ storage and archiving, and familiarity with the major manufacturer and integrator firms is also required.Design and document enterprise class IT infrastructure systems, LAN/WAN, wireless, DAS, PN, RTLS, etc. Design structured cabling systems to support IT, MEP, security, BAS, audiovisual and broadcast services. Design pathways and spaces including equipment room rack/cabinet layouts and elevations, conduits and cable trays, and specify infrastructure hardware. Research products and work with manufacturers and vendors to ensure viability of the system designs.Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work with the project team to produce high quality deliverables within the project milestone dates.Must be able to read architectural drawings and create systems' drawings on supplied backgrounds. CAD and/or Revit skills are necessary. Participation in architect/engineering teams on the development of new construction and retrofit of office buildings, healthcare facilities, corporate interior space, retail, residential etc.Client Development:Assist with RFPs and develop proposals, including estimating efforts.Assist in marketing and business development processes.Required Skills:Be detail oriented and organized while being able to multitask and shift priorities with ease.Must be able to take direction and perform efficiently.Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies along with integration capabilities of systems is preferred.Education and Experience:Background should include systems design/integration, installation and systems research and development. Project management and IT network design experience is a plus.3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and security systems design or design/build fieldCollege level education strongly desired.Desired certifications: ASIS: PSP or CPP (Security)Desired certifications: BICSI: RCDD, CCNA (IT)Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
