Interior Designer

Studio Corbeau is a full-service boutique design firm focused on high-end commercial and residential projects across the country. We are growing and looking to add an eager and ambitious interior designer that has a positive attitude, sense of humor, and amazing work ethic. This designer will be passionate about design, detail-oriented, and ideally will have some experience as a junior designer at another firm.As an interior designer, you will work closely with the Principal Designer and Studio Director, to support in the design and execution of large commercial retail projects, as well as, high-end residential interior design projects. This role directly reports into the Studio Director.This position will be a full-time role that requires on-site attendance in our West Hollywood office. We anticipate this role to continue to grow into a senior position, so we are looking for a true leader who is ready for the next step in their career.Job Responsibilities:Build technical Sketchup models for all new store locations from site survey documents and MatterportDevelop conceptual design & space planning with an understanding of retail spacesDevelop design presentations for each design phase of every projectSource & build finish and material libraries/schedules per projectSource furniture, fixtures, & props for photoshootsBuild & maintain fixture libraries per project Develop drawing sets and analyze shop drawings by millworker to ensure design intent is achievedDesign custom cabinetry & furniture, as needed per projectSupport in training and managing any design interns by providing daily direction and giving design feedbackReview and redline architectural plans with a consistent level of detailManage client communication via daily emails, weekly conference calls, and in-person site visitsManage vendor relationships on a daily basisWork in tandem with our construction management team to ensure all design deadlines are being met, as well as, all approvals and client communication is recorded in our project management tool Desired Skills & Experience:Excellent technical skills using SketchUp Working knowledge of construction documentsAbility to read construction documents & revise design filesAdvanced written skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and broader Studio Corbeau teamStrong work ethicAbility to think critically, problem solve, take initiative and work independently with a sense of urgencyRendering skills are a plus, but not requiredProgram and Software Requirements:Proficient in SketchUp Experience with AutoCAD is a plusMacOS systemAdobe Creative Suite with focus on Photoshop & IndesignFamiliarity with Canva & Project Management toolsMicrosoft Office with focus on Excel & Powerpoint Google Drive (Cloud-based file hosting and documents)Dropbox (Cloud-based file hosting)Additional Benefits Include:50% paid health insurance2 weeks of PTO annually5 wellness days annuallyA corporate credit card for any travel and reimbursablesIf you think you're the right fit, we'd love to see your work!
