Position Overview: The Senior Quality Assurance will oversee the live goods inventory manager and the quality assurance department. The primary focus is to ensure we meet the expectations of both internal and external customers. This role will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a quality and reliability system for the areas of responsibility.Job Duties:Lead Investigations: Conduct investigations on rejections and complaints to determine root causes and assist in implementing corrective actions.Reporting: Communicate findings of quality issues and concerns to relevant departments (operations, growing, sales, master scheduling).Supervision: Supervise and coordinate activities of the Quality Specialists.Review Procedures: Review quality assurance instructions, SOPs, and production schedules to determine methods for conducting quality inspections and ensuring order accuracy.Direct Inspections: Guide workers in quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with established and regulatory standards during packaging and production.Process Development: Develop and audit processes as needed for standardization and improvement.Training: Train staff to properly complete first-piece inspections during packaging and production.Reporting and Records: Prepare reports, maintain quality records, and review them monthly in the Ops staff meeting.Non-Conformance Tracking: Track and monitor non-conformances using L2L.Collaboration: Work with appropriate departments to create actions needed to reduce defects.Product Inspection: Inspect finished products for defects and separate defective items for management review.Quality Oversight: Oversee the quality of live goods buy-in (young plants and finished products).Facility Tours: Conduct facility tours with Product Captains, focusing on plant quality.Daily Packaging Coordination: Direct Quality Specialists in creating daily packaging locations based on plant readiness and variety selection.Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Education Requirements:Associate degree or equivalent work experience required; Quality Certification is a plus.Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, including product testing, inspections, and audits.At least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a QC role.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience in creating SOPs and work instructions.Positive attitude, team support, and the ability to encourage and inspire others.Ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships.Physical Environment & Requirements:Continuous requirements: vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.Frequent requirements: sitting, standing, fine dexterity, and handling.Occasional requirements: walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 20 lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.
