On behalf of our Client, a global leader in the personal care and consumer goods space, we are looking for an expert Field Controls Engineer based in Cincinnati (OH) or alternatively in Lewistown (PA) or Macon (GA).There is a requirement to travel between 50% and 70% of the time to work at the end Customer's plant, depending on projects.Job DescriptionAs a member of the Validation/Service team, the Field Controls Technician will guarantee that the appropriate support to customers is in place. He will support both customers needs at their plants (through on site and/or remote technical assistance) and the validation of our internal projects.Assure technical assistance on all equipment to customers is done (both on site and from remote)Be the Company's interface and representative when on customers plantValidate the implementation of electrical and pneumatic devices to customer acceptance standardsCalibration, testing and troubleshoot controls circuits, components, and instrumentsGather the customers needs and support them in terms of upgrading/retrofitting/refurbishing of existing equipmentTroubleshoot process control issues, developing control solutions to improve outcomesAssist in the development of scope and strategy for automation projectsMaintain configuration control of current PLC source codeDevelop technical documentation and standard operating proceduresReport internally precious technical information coming from customers to the Company's technical communityIn coordination with the Customer Service team foster the Company's spare parts sale when on customer plantQualifications:Min 5 years of controls engineering experienceExperience validating industrial machinery to customer acceptance standardsAbility to program industrial machinery in at least one IEC 61131-3 programming language Ladder or Structured Text preferredFamiliarity with Rockwell industrial automation systems is a must (familiarity with Siemens, Fanuc, ABB technology will be a plus)Familiarity with servo and A/C motor systems including programming, troubleshooting, and tuningAbility to read electrical and pneumatic schematics and develop a program from scratch or make modifications to an existing program in line with schematic revisionsExperience with PID controlAbility to find root cause of a problem applying methodologyClear technical writing skills for machine operating instructions and controls documentationInterest in expanding skillset into robotics controls if necessaryPaper converting Industry experience is strongly preferredAssociate Degree, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Mechanical EngineeringWe pride ourselves on innovation and pursuing solutions to our client's needs.
