Our niche is that we offer a wide variety of engineering along with steel fabrication. This has led us to see a variety of fabrication projects in the petrochemical and agribusiness, primarily in the Gulf South United States. Our projects have included process equipment, structural steel, miscellaneous steel, lifting devices, tank parts, and specialty construction equipment.Point Solitude is a small, young company with significant potential and is experiencing growing pains. The creation of this position is expected to strengthen the operations management aspect of the company.This is an Entry Level position. You will be set on track to become a Shop Project Manager. In general, these responsibilities are estimating projects and managing them through the shop as jobs. You will be expected to execute jobs from beginning to end, starting with the "RFQ" stage all the way through to shipping and final invoice. You will work with others to get this done. Your specific responsibilities will include estimating, job execution planning, job kickoff, drawing procurement, material procurement, scheduling, client coordination, problem resolution, and job oversight as it moves through the shop. You will coordinate routinely with others in matters such as material procurement, document control, cost control, shipping, invoicing, estimating assistance, and drawing development. Your direct report will be the General Manager while primary in-house interfaces will be the Shop Floor Staff, Designers, QC, and the Owner.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PROJECT MANAGER Estimating & Proposal writing for shop fabrication jobs Client coordination in estimating and job phase Job planning and execution oversight Facilitate Job Kickoff Drawing Procurement - from internal and external sources Scheduling of each job and the Shop as a whole Job-Specific problem resolution Material Procurement oversightREQUIRED KNOWLDEGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE0-2 years minimum experience Technical Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar Strong abilities in using MS Suite Software to develop job tools Successful experience developing schedules in Gnatt format using software such as MS Project Familiar with Cost Tracking methods and toolsREQUIRED PERSONAL TRAITS & CHARACTER Strong Organizational skills Strong Communication skills - written and verbal Detail-Oriented - shows great concern for capturing all the details High degree of ProfessionalismPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Background developing detailed drawings for shop fabrication Hands-on fabrication or construction experience
