Summary of ResponsibilitiesLooking for a Structured Finance Risk Summer Intern. The candidate will assist the Structured Finance Risk team in the analysis, approval and monitoring of the Structured Finance deals originated in BBVA New York. In line with the entry-level position, he / she will have tasks such as assisting in the monitoring of portfolios and pipelines, prepare portfolio reports, support senior members with the documentation of executed deals and, specifically, assist in the preparation of credit packages.List Major Job Responsibilities:Assist in the Financial and Risk Analysis of structured finance opportunities, including Infrastructure, LNG, Cleantech and Renewable assets. Assist with the monitoring and waiver / amendments management of the BBVA New York Structured Finance portfolio.Assist with the production of timely and strong risk packages and accurate reports for different Risk Committees (including local and global committees) in coordination with the Head Office Structured Finance Risk team.Assist senior members in the presentation of Structured Finance opportunities to the Risk Committees when required.Assist with the maintenance of internal reports and their distribution to the appropriate areas.Level of Complexity and Risk Involved:Entry-level responsibilities, with the opportunity of shadowing senior team members and assisting in the production and review of credit packages. Participate in the analysis and approval process of structured finance transactions and the coordination and interaction with other teams within the bank (at a local and global level) to achieve those goals.Skills, knowledge, and abilities/CompetenciesEnrolled in a graduate degree / MBA in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related fieldUnderstanding of financial modelingFormal credit training a strong plusFluent in English, strong preference for Spanish fluencyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a team environment and under tight deadlinesUnderstanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling and DCF analysisProficient in Microsoft Office Tools, strong excel knowledge necessary,Bloomberg, Python, Java and/or other programming languages a plusManagement ResponsibilitiesNoneAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary is $30/hour. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
