Geotechnical Field Technician

Geotechnical Field TechnicianW2 Contract-to-HireSalary Range: $47,800 - $52,000 per yearLocation: Sunnyvale, CA - Onsite RoleDuties and Responsibilities:Technicians will perform site observations of earthwork, utility backfill, drainage improvements, excavations, and foundation construction.Technicians will collect samples and perform tests to monitor compliance with construction specifications.Soil and asphalt testingDaily tasks include traveling to job sites using company vehicles and interacting with Project Engineers and Job Captains.Complete technical reportsCoordinate with dispatch, providing constant communication when onsite.Coordinate with construction workers onsite.Requirements and Qualifications:Bachelors degreeExperience with fieldwork in an academic setting is highly preferred.A Nuclear Gauge Density Certification (is mandatory and must be obtained before the first day on the job.Steel-toe boots are mandatory.A valid driver's license and clean driving history are mandatory; you must be able to provide a driver history report to be considered.Able to walk outdoors all day; able to lift 50 lbs for extensive periodsAble to work overtime; 50+ hours weekly.Customer service and team-orientedGood communication and writing skillsDesired Skills and ExperienceGeotechnical, fieldwork, earthwork, nuclear densitometryBayside Solutions, Inc. is not able to sponsor any candidates at this time.
