As an SEC- registered investment advisor with approximately $2B in assets under management, Grounded Capital develops strategies to pursue ideas and solve problems through direct investments of private equity in operating companies, agriculture, forests, and real estate.Summary of role and responsibilities:The Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement will be a strategic partner to the CEO and a key member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. Thisrole is responsible for shaping and communicating the firm's vision, managing Stakeholder relationships, and elevating the firm's brand. The Director will build communication strategies, support fundraising efforts, and ensure all external and internal messaging aligns with the firm's mission and aesthetic.Primary Responsibilities:• Stakeholder Relations and Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for current and prospective Stakeholders, fostering trust and transparency in all communications.Storytelling & Messaging: Develop compelling narratives that convey the firm's investment philosophy, mission, and vision to stakeholders. Ensure a cohesive and polished brand presence across all channels.Relationship Building & Capital-Raising Support: Collaborate closely with the CEO tocreate and execute capital-raising strategies, prepare presentations, and engage withkey stakeholders.Public Relations & Brand Expansion: Identify and pursue opportunities for speakingengagements, podcasts, and events to enhance the firm's public profile.Strategic Communication Support: Advise the CEO on communication initiatives andrepresent the firm in stakeholder meetings and events.Content Creation: Develop professional decks, press releases, website content, casestudies, and market updates that align with the firm's aesthetic and messaging.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMinimum 8 - 10 years of experience in mission-driven stakeholder relations, storytelling, capital raising, or related roles.Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, authentic messaging.Experience aligning branding with strategic goals and collaborating with design teams.Proven success in fundraising and stakeholder engagement.High emotional intelligence, humility, and ability to develop genuine relationships.A polished and intelligent communicator with an eye for detail and a highly curatedaesthetic.Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, listen actively, and support the CEO inStakeholder relations.Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet overlapping deadlines.Active and engaged self-starter with a collaborative work style.Demonstrated personal or professional commitment to Grounded's values and missionto build the health of social, ecological, and financial systems.This position will be based in San Francisco and involve infrequent travel up to 10%.Workplace Arrangements & Physical RequirementsIf you are unsure if you meet all the qualifications, please know that we extend opportunities to a broad array of candidates and celebrate those with diverse workplace experiences and backgrounds.
