Deputy CEOBeaverton Area Chamber of Commerce Position SummaryThe Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as Deputy CEO. This newly created role will function as second-in-command to the CEO, providing strategic leadership and operational support to advance the Chamber's mission, goals, and member services. The Deputy CEO will be instrumental in driving organizational growth, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership• Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement strategic initiatives that support the Chamber's vision and objectives.• Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO on key organizational decisions.• Represent the Chamber in the absence of the CEO at events, meetings, and stakeholder engagements.Member Engagement and Advocacy• Enhance member engagement by leading and developing programs, events, and services that deliver value and promote retention.• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, business leaders, and community partners.Program Development and Oversight• Support the development and execution of Chamber events, initiatives, and programs.• Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements to maximize impact.• Identify opportunities for new revenue streams, sponsorships, and partnerships.Leadership Development• Mentor and manage staff, fostering professional growth and team effectiveness.• Provide leadership continuity by stepping into the CEO role when necessary.Qualifications• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in a Chamber of Commerce, economic development, nonprofit, or membership-based organization.• Proven ability to manage complex projects and budgets effectively.• Strong knowledge of business development, economic development, and community engagement.• Excellent public speaking, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage teams.• Passion for fostering a thriving business community.Preferred Skills• Familiarity with the Beaverton business community and surrounding areas.• Experience in strategic planning and organizational development.• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes impacting local businesses.Interested candidates, please send a cover letter and resume to Alicia Bermes, alicia@
