Studio Assistant & Shipping

Job descriptionA small, handmade textile business is seeking help around our design studio! You will start with helping in beautifully packaging handmade products, handwriting personal notes, and shipping them to the customers. You will then take on the responsibilities of making sure the studio runs smoothly.Position Overview:The purpose of this role is to work independently. Part of ecommerce fulfilment is to pack orders and make sure they are shipped out on time. Your role will also include organizing, maintaining inventory, getting things stitched, and all the tasks required by a textile studio. Being independent and thorough is a must. Training will be provided.Days:Monday - Friday > 11am - 5pm Preferred. But hours are flexible. Responsibilities:Daily determine and organize orders to be shippedGetting fabrics stitched by our seamstress and keeping track of themMay require you to take a few trips to the seamstress and/or post officeCoordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activitiesResponding to customers via EmailTagging ProductsBeautifully Packaging and Shipping of handmade products.Handwriting personal notes to customers for that personal touchUsing shipping software to create labels and ship items.Performing quality check of products.Ironing fabrics.Counting, organizing, and updating inventory.Scheduling courier services.Sample List Every WeekPre-PackMake Swatch BookKeep the work area & equipment clean and orderlyMaintain supply of shipping materialsQualifications:Understanding of 100% Customer Service and SatisfactionPatience to iron, beautifully fold, and neatly package productsAbility to work in shipping software, program manager softwareAbility to handle small amount of physical workloadAbility to multitask and prioritizeStrong organizational skillsSelf driven and proactive natureAbility to be thoroughPrevious experience in shipping is a plus, but not requiredOther Skills:If you have other skills like admin, photography, graphic designing, photo/video editing, marketing, etc. we would encourage you to explore your skills with us if you'd like.
