Please note this is a on-site position.In addition to competitive pay and benefits, we provide a safe and inclusive work environment that appreciates diversity, promotes development and allows our associates to be their authentic selves.Job Description: The Buyer advises and assesses packaging concepts proposed by business teams, primarily Marketing/Sales, regarding packaging trends and concepts feasibility. Packaging includes bottles, containers (various materials), labels, closures, displays, and corrugate.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee the complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testingSupport Marketing teams' packaging design concepts by advising on feasibility (including store display and multi-product packaging sets)Source new components (Bottles, pumps/caps/labels, tubes, Jars, etc..) for multiple projects with short lead times.Responsible for identifying ISO certified suppliers for primary and secondary packaging materials, and procuring quotes for raw materialsManage existing supplier/manufacture relationships, and help identify new suppliers in support of the company's continued growth.Help support and administer long-term agreements and purchase items at the lowest price consistent with desired quality.Route and track component delivery to ensure materials are available according to Client timeline commitments.Identify cost saving opportunities through alternative product sourcing and services; continually challenge supplier base for innovation and cost optimization.Identify, evaluate, and implement new sources of supply.Provide complete and accurate status reports on request.Responsible for prioritizing all projects while considering the overall needs of the organization and ensuring optimum utilization of available resources for timely development and introduction.Oversee from a packaging point of view all specified and new projects, monitoring progress throughout the product development life cycle, identifying risks and opportunities.Manage and Identify optimal cost saving options for freight services internationally and domestically. Determine best freight option on given project and follow through until delivered.Manage all packing lists, ROG, and BOLs on specified projects.Meet regularly with vendors to follow up on projects and solve issues.Initiate and close corrective actions to suppliers such as RA from vendors.Oversees and processes purchase orders including any revisions and update order files.Review Supplier quotes to assure accuracy of price, equipment description, shipping instructions and initiates follow-up action for orders.Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree; preferably in Math, Finance or EconomicsMinimum of 5 years purchasing experience in Packaged Goods; preferably, Beauty, Personal Care, Pharma, or NutritionKnowledge of SAP, MS Office applications and/or eProcurement tools. Advanced Excel skills.Effective negotiation and relationship management skills.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Effective negotiation and relationship management skills.Demonstrated strong sense of ownership for the product and its successDriven to grow and learn and thrives in a faced paced/changing work environment.Demonstrated detail-orientation, organizational and prioritization skills.The ability to work with confidential information on a daily basis.
