Job Title: Research Associate - DiscoveryEmployment Status: Full-TimeAbout Sapience TherapeuticsAt Sapience, we think boldly about the possibilities for treating cancer. We aim to discover and develop peptide therapeutics to address oncogenic and immune dysregulation that drive cancer. With in-house discovery capabilities, Sapience has built a pipeline of therapeutic candidates called SPEARsâ„¢ (Stabilized Peptides Engineered Against Regulation) that disrupt intracellular protein-protein interactions, enabling targeting of transcription factors which have traditionally been considered undruggable, and can deliver cargo to cell surface targets with their new class of molecule called SPARCsâ„¢ (Stabilized Peptides Against Receptors on Cancer), enabling delivery of payloads such as a-particles to cancer cells. Sapience is advancing its lead programs, ST316, a first-in-class antagonist of íŸ-catenin, and ST101, a first-in-class antagonist of C/EBPíŸ, through Phase 1-2 clinical trials.Position Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous researcher to support the discovery and characterization of peptide candidates. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The candidate will be involved in peptide discovery efforts utilizing Sapience's ADAPT and PADS platforms. The candidate will perform genomic and cell-based assays to support peptide candidate discovery and optimization.The ideal candidate will demonstrate careful lab practices, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and practice new techniques.
